Workshops & Council Presentation

Academy workshops will be held on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8 pm at the Hillsboro Civic Center. 2026 dates include:

Between-session work (about 30 minutes per week, on average) will also be assigned to help participants stay engaged and prepared.

The Academy will conclude with a final presentation to the Hillsboro City Council on Tuesday, October 21.

Participation in all sessions is essential to the success of both the individual experience and the group project. Because the Academy is designed as a collaborative learning environment, each session builds on the last — missing a session impacts the entire cohort. A commitment to 100% participation is required. Absences will only be excused in cases of emergency. Please carefully consider your availability before applying.
