You’re invited to join Hillsboro’s 2026 Civic Leadership Academy!
The 2026 Civic Leadership Academy will take place this fall and focus on how the City can promote and expand cultural exchange within the community.
The Academy is an opportunity for Hillsboro residents from all neighborhoods and backgrounds to:
Create community connections
Research a topic of community importance
Share perspectives & hear new ideas
Make recommendations to Hillsboro City Council
Members will participate in six Wednesday evening workshops from September 2 through October 7 and present their recommendations to City Council on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
People of all personal and professional backgrounds and people from historically underrepresented communities are encouraged to apply. Priority is given to candidates who are new to civic leadership.

Our goal is to make the Civic Leadership Academy as accessible as possible.
Dinner and free supervised play for children are provided at each workshop

Please note that the Civic Leadership Academy will be delivered in English. If you are selected to join the Academy and request additional accommodation, the City will assist with resources to help you fully and comfortably participate.
