Do you love Hillsboro and care about your community?
Are you interested in giving back to the community and building leadership skills?
You’re invited to join Hillsboro’s 2025 Civic Leadership Academy!
At the Academy, Hillsboro residents from all neighborhoods and backgrounds come together to research a topic of community importance, share their perspectives, and make recommendations to City Council. Last year’s Academy focused on addressing isolation and loneliness in older adults in the Hillsboro community.
The 2025 Civic Leadership Academy will take place this fall. Participants will help design new Hillsboro flag options to celebrate the City’s 150th anniversary. The designs will be shared with the City Council, who will then determine the process of getting community feedback.
People of all personal and professional backgrounds, people of color, and people from historically underrepresented communities are encouraged to apply.
As a member, you will:
Develop leadership skills
Share your ideas
Build community connection
Members will participate in six Wednesday evening workshops from September 3 to October 8 and present their recommendations to City Council on Tuesday, October 21.
