THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR IDEAS!
From March through September, we gathered your ideas to update our Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan and raffled off prizes for every 500 participants.
More than 2,400 community members shared over 4,150 ideas to shape Hillsboro’s future as we update our Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan.
In January, we'll ask you to tell us which ideas are most important in each of the Plan's focus areas.
Shaping Hillsboro's Future With Your Ideas
The Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan is our shared vision and action plan for Hillsboro's future.
The actions in the 2035 Plan are based on input from thousands of community members (just like you!) and brought to life by dozens of local organizations who help move them forward. The Plan is updated every five years to keep it relevant and current to our growing and changing community.
The ideas you shared could become action items in Plan and make Hillsboro an even better place to live, work, learn and play.
Popular Ideas:
New pool, water park, lazy river, and water slides!
Affordable housing for everyone (both need-based & without income requirements)
More music venues & cultural events
Safer pedestrian & bicycle routes
Creative Ideas:
"You Pick" fruit tree gardens throughout the city
Downtown waterfront with canals of reclaimed wastewater
Squirrel bridges to help small animals navigate busy roads safely
Hillsboro Trolley to transport people to markets, events, and popular locations
Golf cart & pedestrian-only traffic zones
Old school roller-skating rink
Please note, these ideas may or may not be included in the updated 2035 Plan. Inclusion is dependent on the outcome of the community prioritization survey and if there is a community partner willing to help with implementation.
