Want a voice in local government? Join Hillsboro's Youth Advisory Council!
The mission of the Hillsboro Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is to serve and improve the Hillsboro community through positive activities, strengthening relationships, appreciating diversity, and connecting youth to local government.
YAC members join subcommittees that develop, organize, participate in and manage a number of community events, programs, and service projects throughout the school year.
To be eligible, applicants must be entering into their 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade year and live in the Hillsboro School District limits. You are not required to attend school in Hillsboro.
Applications and letters of recommendation are due by Sunday, May 18, 2025 at midnight. Partial applications or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Applications are reviewed and scored based on several qualification categories, including community involvement and interest in civic engagement.
Selected candidates may be asked to participate in an interview process.
