Join the Teen Library Council at Hillsboro Public Library!
Members, ages 13 - 18, work together to make the library a welcoming and fun place for teens while giving back to the community.
🕓 Meetings:
The cohort will meet twice a month, alternating between Shute Park Library and Brookwood Library, from January 8 - May 15.
What Teen Library Council Members Do
Collaborate on creative programs
Assist with social media and videos
Connect with local leaders
Share feedback and ideas to help the library better serve teens
Build teamwork and leadership skills while having fun

A chance to make new friends and create a positive impact in your community
Applicant Selection
Applications closed November 30, 2025.
Applications will be reviewed and scored based on several qualification categories, including community involvement and interest in civic engagement.
Candidates may be asked to participate in an interview process in early to mid December.
The Teen Library Council is a maximum of 20 students
Selections will be announced in mid December.
To be eligible, applicants ages 13 to 18 and in 8th - 12th grade, live in Hillsboro city limits or be an active patron of Hillsboro Public Library.
